Our 100% bioplastic cutlery is made from a plant-based bioplastic – produced from rapidly renewable corn starch. Our CPLA BioCutlery is certified industrially compostable to Australian and European Standards AS4736 & EN13432. This compostable cutlery range includes knives, forks, spoons, sporks, and cutlery sets.
Key Features:
- Eco-Friendly: Made from renewable resources, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
- Biodegradable: Depending on the material, bioplastic cutlery can break down naturally over time, minimizing environmental impact.
- Compostable: Some types of bioplastic can be composted in industrial composting facilities, turning into useful compost rather than contributing to landfill waste.
- Durability: Despite being plant-based, bioplastic cutlery is often designed to be strong and durable, suitable for use with a variety of foods.
- Heat Resistance: Many types of bioplastic cutlery can withstand heat, making them suitable for hot foods and beverages.
Applications:
- Used in food service industries, such as takeout restaurants, cafes, and catering events.
- Ideal for eco-conscious consumers and businesses aiming to reduce their carbon footprint.
- Commonly used in settings where disposable cutlery is necessary but where there is a desire to minimize environmental impact.
Considerations:
- The environmental benefits can vary depending on the specific type of bioplastic used and the conditions under which it is disposed of. Proper composting facilities are often required to ensure the material breaks down effectively.
